2017 Asia electronic forum held in Philippines

on June, Torrential rains enveloped the city in Philippines, Manila. Even if it rains heavily , enthusiasm still appears to be strong. From June 18 to 23, the 13^th Asia Electronic Forum (AEF)was held ceremoniously in Manila,Philippines. The theme of this AEF involves cloud computing, big data as well as the change and market potential of artificial intelligence for the further development of future industries and life quality.

During the forum, the award winners of the “2017 Asia Electronic Information Industry Innovation Awards” and “2017 Asian consumer favorite electronic products Award” also were published in the forum.

From May 11th to May 31st , internet polls about “2017 Asia Electronic Information Industry Innovation Awards” and “2017 Asian consumer favorite electronic products Award” were conducted on the xiaofeibao- App. The selection attracted 60 innovative enterprises. Xiaofeibao- App, as the organizing committee’s only designated online voting platform, adhering to the principle of fairness, impartiality and openness, attracted many consumers’ attention. At the meeting, Dr. Dan Lachica, President of the Philippines semiconductor and Electronics Industry Association, representing the host nation, extended warmly welcome to all Asian countries

Subsequently, Dr. Dan Lachica made a speech.  In 1970s, Philippines traditional export sector accounted for 89.45% of total exports, non traditional industries 6.55% , and  other industries 4% . By 2016, the electronics industry accounted for 51% of Philippines total exports, other industries 49% . It shows that the industrial structure of Philippines has been fundamentally adjusted over the past 30 years, and a qualitative leap has taken place in the electronics industry

Philippines electronic industry is still the largest contributor to Philippines total exports. At the end of 2015, the total exports  reached 28.92 billion US dollars， accounting for 49% of Philippines total merchandise exports

Subsequently, George Choo, Secretary General of the Singapore Chamber of Electronics Technology and Innovation Industry, delivered a speech titled ” Singapore’s IOT and manufacturing 4.0”. At present, Singapore’s capacity is $90 billion, creating jobs for 80 thousand people, he said,currently, Singapore’s capacity reached $90 billion, creating jobs for 80 thousand people, Manufacturing output in Singapore increased by 6.7% on a year-on-year basis in April 2017. At the same time, as a member of ASEAN, Singapore is also a global electronic hub, with world-class electronic manufacturing equipment and end- to- end research development capabilities. In addition, Singapore has a more mature system for the creation and management of new markets, products, processes, technologies and applications of company site selection. New business opportunities are created through emerging fields such as bio-electronics, green electronics, and printed electronics.

And then, Dennis Chew, regional director of International Electrotechnical Commission Asia Pacific Branch made a speech titled ‘’Latest developments in international standards on Internet of things and intelligent manufacturing’’, he said, Singapore now has a global network in 170 countries, covering 99% of the world’s population and electricity power, affecting 20% of the international trade volume. In terms of industry 4.0, IEC system path is driven by the creation of a system evaluation team and an intelligent manufacturing industry for intelligent manufacturing,finally through the integration of professional knowledge of many organizations to complete.

Lu’u Hoàng Long,  President of Vietnam electronics industry association and  Vietnam delegate, said that by the end of 2016, Vietnamese telephone and component exports dominated the main export market of Vietnam. Total exports of telephone and components amounted to $34.3 billion , and foreign direct investments remained dominant, accounting for 99.8% of total national export earnings

In recent years, the Vietnam Electronic Industry Association has maintained extensive and close international relations with many international organizations around the world, and supported member companies to actively participate in international fairs、training management skills, technological processes, technical advice, technology transfer, and export of high demand markets，Such as the United States, Europe. In addition, the Vietnamese Electronic Industry Association generally organizes professional training in 3 or 4 phases to guide enterprises in all parts of the world to participate in; also through strengthening cooperation with international research institutions to enhance the comprehensive level of the Vietnamese electronics industry

Toshihara kiyomoto, vice president of Communications and Information Network Association of Japan, Roger Liao，director of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic manufactures’ Association, and Xu Hui Ying, Secretary General of Shenzhen Electronic Chamber of Commerce , made speeches respectively.

Asia electronic forum (AEF) has been renowned as an annual event of Asia electronic industry. It is also an authoritative forum to explore the direction of the intelligent industry development and to push forward  the progress of the electronic information industry in Asia.
